A ticket is issued by the Police, City Council or other authority for an infringement offence e.g. parking, speeding, under age drinking, littering etc.
28 Days Later... A Reminder Infringement Notice is sent to you at your last known address.
Reminder Infringement Notice
This has your rights, where you can pay and the due date.
Due Date
You must act before the due date to avoid the infringement ticket becoming a Court fine.
   
Your ticket is passed on to the Court for collection.If you have not acted on your rights or paid the infringement ticket by the due date it is passed on to the Court for collection

  Now it is a Court fine...
An extra $30 is added.
...and an extra $30 lodgement fee is added to the original infringement ticket amount.
 
 
 

A Final Notice of Fine is sent seven days before the due date.
Final Notice
This is your final warning before your Court fine becomes overdue and additional costs are imposed.

A Notice of Fine is sent to you by the Courts. This has your rights, where you can pay and the due date.

    

OH NO!
You must act before the due date to avoid additional costs being imposed and enforcement action being taken against you.
    $100 added to Fine.Now your Court fine is overdue and $100 is added to the $30 lodgement fee and the original infringement ticket amount.
Enforcement Action
If you still don't pay Enforcement action can be taken.

In some cases you may be sent a "48 hour" card. You must respond within 48 hours to avoid enforcement action.

  • You may be stopped and arrested at any New Zealand international airport.
